Golfeye Deployment Guide
From site survey to go-live in 6 steps —a clear, low-risk deployment path for golf facilities of any size.
6-Step Deployment Process
Every Golfeye deployment follows the same proven process —designed to minimize risk and maximize speed-to-value:
Site Assessment
We evaluate your facility's physical layout, identify optimal camera positions, and assess infrastructure (power, network coverage). Can be done remotely via photos/video or on-site.
- Share facility photos, layout maps, and satellite imagery
- Identify priority areas (practice area, signature holes, lesson bays)
- Assess existing power outlets and WiFi coverage
Deployment Planning
Based on the site assessment, we design a detailed deployment plan including camera angles, power routing, network configuration, and a timeline.
- Finalize camera positions and angles
- Plan power routing (AC outlets vs battery positions)
- Design network topology (WiFi access points if needed)
- Set deployment date and logistics
Physical Installation
Camera mounting, power connection, and initial video quality verification. No construction, trenching, or structural modifications.
- Mount cameras on tripods or fixed brackets
- Connect power (AC or battery)
- Verify camera angles cover target zones
- Test video quality in current lighting conditions
System Configuration
Connected workflow setup covering the phone, network, device status, capture validation, content delivery, and staff responsibilities.
- Validate the complete connected workflow against the current Technology guide and operating manual
- Record the approved settings, owners, and escalation path
Staff Training
On-site training session covering daily operation, basic troubleshooting, and how to onboard members.
- Golfeye hardware operation and approved connected workflow
- Common troubleshooting and escalation
- User onboarding, content access, and staff responsibilities
Go-Live & Optimization
System goes live. We monitor performance for the first 2 weeks and optimize camera angles, detection zones, and settings based on real-world data.
- Launch announcement to members/customers
- Monitor AI detection accuracy and video quality
- Adjust camera angles and detection zones based on usage patterns
- Collect initial user feedback
Total timeline: Timing depends on product availability, camera quantity, site readiness, power, connectivity, connected-workflow configuration, staff responsibilities, and any partner requirements. Confirm the schedule after the deployment scope is defined.
Infrastructure Requirements Checklist
What your facility needs before deployment day:
| Requirement | Details | Who Provides |
|---|---|---|
| Outdoor power outlets | Standard AC outlet within 15m of each camera position (or use battery mode) | Facility |
| Wi-Fi coverage | Validate coverage at camera positions for the required connected and cloud workflows | Facility |
| Mounting locations | Flat ground for tripods, or wall/post for bracket mounts —no drilling required for tripods | Facility |
| Camera hardware | Golfeye units, modular mounts, tripods and supplied power accessories | Golfeye |
| Workflow configuration | Device connection, operating process, content delivery, and branding scope | Shared responsibility |
| Display monitors (optional) | Confirm the approved playback or computer-export workflow | Facility (if desired) |
| Staff time for training | 2 hours for initial training session | Facility |
Common Deployment Challenges & Solutions
Issues that occasionally arise during deployment —and how we handle them:
| Challenge | Root Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power outlet near desired position | Outdoor power infrastructure does not reach the planned camera position | Confirm the Golfeye power plan before deployment and use an appropriately rated facility power solution where required |
| Weak connection at camera position | The phone or facility network cannot maintain the required connected workflow | Keep the phone near Golfeye, verify Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and mobile data, and add network coverage where live or cloud features are required |
| Camera angle doesn't cover the target area | Obstructions such as trees or netting, or a suboptimal mounting position | Adjust the modular mount and confirm the live preview during the site assessment |
| Sun glare at certain times of day | Camera facing into sun during morning/evening | Position cameras facing north/south; use lens hood; AI auto-adjusts exposure |
| Users unfamiliar with access process | New technology adoption barrier | Provide clear signage and staff-assisted onboarding during rollout |
